In Vivo Scientist

Our client, one of the leading global biologics in R&D, are looking to recruit an In Vivo Scientist to work within their team focusing on cardiovascular, autoimmune and oncology therapeutic areas.

12 months initially fixed term contract

Basic Requirements:

  • Home Office License modules 1- 4 is essential
  • BSc in scientific field desirable
  • Previous experience working with in vivo experiments
  • Minimum of 4- 5 years’ experience within the industry is preferred
  • An ability to work well independently as well as part of a team
  • Experience of working in a drug discovery/development environment is desirable
  • Driving license and own transport preferable due to location.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Execution of regulated experimental procedures requiring compliance with the Home Office Animal (Scientific procedures) Act 1986
  • Work in accordance to current legislation for experimental Neoplasia (UKCCCR Guidelines)
  • Design, record and analyse all in vivo experimental work
  • Husbandry and welfare checks
  • Operation of washing and sterilisation equipment
  • Liaise and work closely with other therapeutic aligned sections(s) of the Biological Sciences team to allow interlinking across all therapeutic areas
  • Work in a flexible, collaborative style in support of colleagues within and outside the Biological Sciences team
  • Acquire and maintain a working understanding of the scientific basis of project work, sufficient to be able to competently perform the required experiments
  • Ensure accurate data recording relating to both experimental and non-experimental procedures is undertaken and maintained
  • To participate in essential weekend duties.
