Research Technician

Our client, a leading Contract Research Company specialising in pre-clinical cancer research are looking to recruit a Research Technician to work in their in vivo laboratory focusing on the validation of novel cancer targets and anti-cancer drugs. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing experimental procedures and supporting the functioning of the in vivo laboratories. 

This post will be a fixed term contract for 1 year.

Basic Requirements

• Must hold a Personal License, preferably modules 1-3
• Have competency in a range of in vivo techniques in mice, such as dosing via common routes and reporting clinical signs
• Experience of oncology models is advantageous
• Minimum NVQ or GCSE-level education but A-levels or BTEC in Animal Care is desirable
• Proactive, with the ability to generate ideas and translate them into practical solutions
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to demonstrate accurate data recording practices and have experience using Microsoft Office software. 

Duties and Responsibilities

• Working as a member of the Operations Team in an in vivo laboratory
• Performing experimental procedures on client and research in vivo projects
• Performing duties appropriate to supporting the functioning of the in vivo laboratories, such as animal welfare checks and maintaining and managing supplies of materials
• Working with oncology models taking tumour measurements and monitoring tumour conditions etc.

You must have your own transport due to rural location based in Leicestershire.
