Q. Won’t I lose control if Agenda manage my facility?

A. Agenda aim to integrate their facility management team with those of the client organisation, Key Peformance indicators offer a transparent review of performance plus the client gets the benefit of the extended Agenda networks, facility management team and support from Agenda’s training, recruitment, contracts technologists, security screening and occupation health service. Agenda are there to facilitate the research with a customer focused can-do attitude.

Q. I need to get my new facility running as soon as possible can Agenda help with this?

A. Agenda’s service portfolio is extensive and includes the management of full, turnkey ‘design and build’ projects as well as the day-to-day running of all types and sizes of research facility. The packages that we offer can cover all or selected aspects of facility operations. Our involvement can range from providing an experienced consultant to managing the entire project and its associated infrastructure. In short, we provide a tailor made solution.

Q. Can Facility Management save us money?

A. Time is money. By contracting all or part of the facility management function to Agenda and releasing senior personnel to focus on their primary tasks, you can save valuable time and duplication of effort. What’s more, our substantial buying power allied to our facility management experience and meticulously efficient approach has substantially reduced operating cost for many of our clients. Customers also save on Recruitment and Hiring, Security Screening, Training and Administrative costs such as HR, processing salaries and Occupational Health costs and pension fund management.

Q. How is management performance measured?

A. Through establishing bespoke quality focused Key Performance Indicators which Agenda is scored against. It can be ensured that the customer receives the service they expect and that Agenda’s commitment to continual improvement provides long-term value added. Agenda can assist in the development of the measures and is happy for these to be assessed by the client or an external body to provide an independent view of Agenda’s performance.

Q. Can Agenda provide technical staff at all levels?

A. Agenda provides clients a central and reliable source of high quality staff. With back-up, holiday and sickness cover provided by the experienced Agenda contract team and new recruits sourced from the most extensive and sophisticated database in the sector we provide people with expertise, experience and qualifications at all levels from junior technicians to senior managers and directors.

Q. Is the client involved in the decision making regarding recruitment?

A. Agenda works very closely with our clients at all stages of the Facility Management process. Many clients leave the recruitment, selection and screening process to Agenda to save time and effort but we understand that clients may wish to be involved in the selection of people who will work in their facility and so clients can choose to be involved as little or as much as they wish.

Q. How does Agenda manage budgets?

A. Agenda has specific expertise in managing budgets in academic, pharmaceutical, contract research and supplier organisations. Working with the client at all stages, we provide advice on the financial requirements of efficient facility management and opportunities to save costs.

Q. Will the Agenda management team be knowledgeable enough to liaise fully with the research teams and discuss their requirements?

A. Agenda’s management team have many years’ experience working within the laboratory animal research sector and have a proven track record in effective stakeholder communication and liaison. The over-arching goal is to facilitate the science, Agenda delivers this through a customer focused can do approach.

Q. What happens if the client wants to make changes to the contract?

A. Agenda works very closely with the client and each contract is bespoke to their individual needs. Any changes that the client requests can be discussed with the management team at any time during the contract through regular contract and performance review meetings or via established processes such as the change request forms.

Q. How long does a contract normally last for?

A. It entirely depends on the clients requirements. Often they are between 1 and 5 years, longer contracts provide stability and opportunities for the delivery of longer–term strategic objectives but Within each contract flexibility is built in, we can manage the whole facility, selected aspects such as the cage wash and service’s areas or provide an interim solution to get the facility running effectively until it is fully resourced and handed back to the client.

Q. Can I get extra staff if I need them?

A. Agenda has an experienced team of contract technologists, which means we can provide additional staff should the workload or holiday/sickness cover require it. This flexibility also means that if the workload goes down we can also reduce the resources to save costs.

Q. Will Agenda provide out of hours cover?

A. The facility management contract covers all required resources at weekends, bank holidays or for early or late job requirements. If appropriate, this can also mean covering some researcher tasks out of normal hours further saving the client, time, money and effort.
