Area Sales Manager

Location: South UK

On behalf of our client, we are looking to recruit an Area Sales Manager to increase and drive sales in a Southern UK territory. The successful candidate will be required to take ownership of the products, manage a consultative sales process and in time, develop into a product specialist.

The Area Sales Manager will play a key role in creating and growing relationships with current and potential clients, generating new leads, qualifying prospects and managing sales of products and services to achieve personal and company sales objectives.

In addition to a competitive base salary, you can also expect to receive annual performance-based bonuses, a company vehicle, mobile phone and laptop.

Basic Requirements:

  • Established life science capital equipment sales experience
  • Knowledge of different sales techniques and pipeline management
  • Self-motivated, driven and comfortable with lone working
  • Understand basic mechanics surrounding installation of and service to equipment
  • Sense of ownership and pride in performance and it’s impact on company success
  • An understanding of industry standard drawing packages is desirable

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop new sales strategies and models to impact sales performance
  • Build long lasting relationships with current and potential clients
  • Evaluate customer needs, interact with the client and create clear client pathways
  • Evaluate sales strategy effectiveness, understanding what is working and what may need to change to have a positive impact on your area’s performance
  • Report and provide feedback to management using financial statistical data and ongoing sales activity
  • Manage and maintain the client database within your assigned territory
  • Give sales presentations to a range of prospective clients individually and as part of a team
  • Prepare and submit tender information for accurate quotation to meet client deadlines
  • Be a team player, interact with fellow area sale managers, sharing best practice and improved ways of working
