Licensed Animal Technician

Location: Eye, Suffolk
Salary: £17,500 per annum

Agenda has an exciting opportunity for a Licensed Animal Technician to join one of the UK’s largest and reputable organisations. Our client is a dynamic products and services company dedicated to supporting scientific research which makes a difference to people’s lives. Due to rural location, your own transport will be essential.

Basic Requirements:

  • Hold a Home Office Personal License
  • Experience of working in an animal research unit
  • Practical experience including daily husbandry, handling and restraint, and evidence of high standards of animal welfare
  • Experience recording laboratory paperwork and using laboratory data systems
  • Knowledge of the Animal Scientific Procedures Act and associated Home Office legislation
  • Good communication and organisational skills.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Actively use Personal License, performing regulated procedures in rodent and non-rodent species
  • General husbandry duties for a range of species, and conducting daily animal checks along with monitoring and recording animal’s health through routine observations
  • Accurate record keeping, collecting data both manually and using electronic data capture systems
  • Performing husbandry and technical procedures
  • Working to a high standard of cleanliness and health and safety at all times.
