On behalf of our client, we are looking to recruit a Toxicologist to support drug discovery and development of new medicines. The successful candidate will act as a project toxicologist in non-GLP and GLP projects, networking with internal and external experts, and collaborating with partners, CROs and consultant toxicologists.

Basic Requirements

  • Degree in an appropriate scientific subject (Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Life or Medical or Physical Sciences)
  • Experience in preclinical toxicity assessment in pharmaceutical R&D and working in a GLP-accredited facility are essential
  • Expertise on predictive and mechanistic toxicology and on translational safety risk assessment
  • LIMS experience would be an advantage
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • A high degree of self-motivation and a proactive approach to work
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Acting as Study Director/Principal Investigator for Client studies carried out internally or externally
  • Planning and carrying out a wide range of experiments, looking at the biological systems of animals
  • Using experimental data to assess a drug's toxicity and create a safety profile
  • Balancing a drug’s potential benefits against any risks
  • Researching scientific literature
  • Writing reports and scientific papers, and presenting findings
  • Liaising with regulatory authorities to ensure compliance with local, national and international regulations
