On behalf of our client, a world-leading R&D company with state-of-the art facilities, we are looking to recruit a technical expert in the field of mechanistic or translational biology, who is ready for an exciting career move in early discovery in an open, supportive and collaborative working culture.

This role would suit a higher-degree level with additional experience in project and technical leadership across toxicology and safety assessment.

There is flexibility to work from home, balancing this home/site ratio with experience levels.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for data analysis using large scale, varied datasets for multilayer optimisation to support the research and development of new active chemical ingredients.
  • Contributing to the toxicological expertise within product safety by providing expert knowledge in the field of mechanistic or translational biology.
  • Using knowledge of physiochemical properties in multilayer structure activity relationship analysis.
  • Contributing to the design and management of externally conducted mechanistic toxicity studies, where data generated will be used to inform research, development and business decisions.
  • Representing human safety in multifunctional project teams.
  • Contributing to science foresight on emerging toxicological and regulatory issues.
  • Giving presentations at internal events and sometimes externally to enable development and business decisions and regulatory submissions to be made.
  • Influencing the development of technical strategies to support research projects.

Requirements:

  • Educated to a higher degree level, such as PhD/PostDoc
  • Post-graduate experience in mechanistic and/or translational biology is highly desirable
  • Experienced in complex data analysis and interpretation and its application to decision making, along with a full understanding of issues associated with toxicological assays, in vivo and in vitro
  • Ability to lead projects and to deliver technical leadership.
  • Passion to proactively share knowledge as subject matter expert during lead exploration and optimisation
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to quickly develop robust networks and key relationships.
